Israel launched a wide-scale wave of strikes on Iran’s capital early Wednesday, April 1st as U.S. president Donald Trump prepared to address the American public.
Explosions were reported across northern, eastern, and central Tehran, according to Iranian state television.
The Israeli military confirmed the operation. It also reported intercepting a new missile attack from Iran, the first in nearly 20 hours.
The war, which began on February 28th with coordinated U.S.-Israeli action against Iran, has since expanded across the region. The escalation has disrupted energy markets and raised concerns about broader economic consequences.
President Trump earlier said the war could be over in
two weeks, maybe three.
But we’re finishing the job.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reaffirmed that Israeli operations would continue, stating that Israel had already significantly weakened Iran’s ballistic and nuclear capabilities:
We had to act, and we acted.
He added that “We will continue to crush the terror regime.”
