Gaza activists announced “emergency rallies” over the weekend, calling on their leaders to stop the bombing of… Iran.

While chants of “Death to Khamenei, Death to IRGC [Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps]” could be heard in Tehran over the weekend, activists in some of Europe’s biggest capitals came out in support of the Iranian regime, the Islamist backers of terror groups across the Middle East and the sponsor of the October 7th pogrom.

Demonstrations unsurprisingly saw pro-Palestine protesters stand up for Iran. In London, for example, the ‘Palestine Solidarity Campaign’ announced an “emergency protest” on Saturday titled: “Stop Bombing Iran. Stop Arming Israel. End the Genocide.”

The group later posted on social media, solidifying this pro-Palestine, pro-Iran link, saying that thousands were “demanding our government stop arming Israel and pressure it to stop bombing Iran.”

Some in the crowd held signs reading “don’t attack Iran,” while Iranian flags were also seen being waved by activists in Glasgow, Scotland.

Paris also hosted what The Jerusalem Post described as “mass pro-Iranian regime rallies” on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, where Iranian and Palestinian flags could again be seen side-by-side. And in Berlin, police said prohibited symbols were displayed and prohibited slogans were chanted during demonstrations combining the Palestinian and Iranian cause on Saturday.

This joining of activist forces has barely been discussed in more mainstream news outlets.

As individuals chanted in support of Iran in Germany’s capital, Chancellor Friedrich Merz announced reinforced security around national Israeli and Jewish sites, in case they are targeted by Iran.
