European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will meet with victims of the DANA floodings on May 13th, her chief of staff said in a letter sent to the victims association.
In the letter, Von der Leyen acknowledges “the immense pain and tragedy” suffered by those affected. She also regrets not being able to meet them during her visit to Valencia for the European People’s Party (EPP) Congress. The letter states her aim is to provide them with a platform “in the most meaningful way possible.”
So ‘Queen Ursula’ is willing to listen to the victims but not while she is at the EPP congress, as it might be embarrassing for the Spanish socialist allies of her European People’s Party.
