Separate meetings involving Washington, Kyiv, Moscow, and European allies failed to narrow gaps on ending the war, even as fighting intensified on the ground in Ukraine.

U.S. and Ukrainian envoys issued a joint statement on Sunday that hailed “productive and constructive” talks in Miami but did not announce any apparent breakthrough in efforts to end the war with Russia.

Top representatives from both Ukraine and Russia, as well as Kyiv’s European allies, have been in southern Florida over the past several days for a series of separate talks hosted by U.S. president Donald Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff.

Russian envoy Kirill Dmitriev met separately with the U.S. delegation and is expected to report developments back to Moscow. However, the Kremlin has ruled out trilateral talks, calling Europe’s involvement a hindrance to negotiations.

While diplomacy continues, the conflict on the ground has intensified. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported over 1,300 drone attacks and nearly 1,200 guided bombs on Ukraine in the past week, with heavy damage in Odesa. In eastern Sumy, Russian troops forcibly displaced dozens of civilians from a village, highlighting the ongoing humanitarian toll of the war.
