MEP Jorge Buxadé, the head of the VOX delegation in the European Parliament, has denounced EU globalists for their activism against Hungary, following a draft report adopted by the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE) which, in addition to falsely maligning its democratically-elected government, calls on the Commission to withhold Hungary’s access to bloc’s s COVID recovery fund.

The VOX MEP’s statements condemning the European Union’s treatment of Hungary, which he carried out on behalf of the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) and Identity and Democracy (ID) parliamentary groupings came on Wednesday, July 13th, during statements given at the LIBE Committee meeting.

“I have the honor to present a minority position together with Jean-Paul Garraud, Vincenzo Sofo, Annalisa Tardino, Jadwiga Wisniewska, Balázs Hidvéghi and Patryk Jaki, who represent the European Conservatives and Reformists, Identity and Democracy and non-attached groups,” Buxadé began.

“We want to put on record that the report adopted on Hungary lacks any objectivity,” he began, adding: “This Parliament is being used for political activism against democratically elected conservative governments such as the Hungarian one, which to the disgrace of some of you renewed its absolute majority last April.”

The committee’s approved report “fails to objectively identify any kind of violation of the rule of law,” Buxade declared before he urged the EU to focus its attention on more pressing matters, namely the unblocking of a legislative package on immigration.

“It is the responsibility of this committee and it has been totally blocked for six years despite the immigration invasion that does put the rule of law in our nations at serious risk,” he concluded.

Since assuming the leadership of VOX’s delegation in the European Parliament in 2019, Buxadé—as one of the few parliamentarians willing to expose the EU’s anti-democratic character and confront its ruinous policies head-on—has become a fixture at the podium in Strausburg, where he consistently delivers impassioned and fearless speeches on behalf of the peoples of Europe.
