A former National Front MEP has announced he wants to organise a “remigration” conference in Paris in October.
The event—proposed by Jean-Yves Le Gallou—would advocate the mass expulsion of migrants in France illegally, along with foreign criminals and welfare dependents, among others.
Le Gallou was a Member of the European Parliament for the Front National (the forerunner of the Rassemblement National) from 1994 to 1999. He made the announcement at Saturday’s remigration summit in Portugal.
Just over a year ago, the ex-MEP made a speech in Milan, Italy outlining his vision, marking himself out as a key advocate of remigration. On Saturday, May 30th he spoke of what he calls the “paralyzing role of the judiciary,” which he believes blocks efforts to regulate immigration.
Le Gallou told Le Figaro that the Paris conference will be organised by his identity politics think tank Polémia, backed the organisers of the Remigration Summit, including Austria’s Martin Sellner and Dutch influencer Eva Vlaardingerbroek. It could invite French presidential candidates to debate the issue of migration and their competing policy proposals.
Asked if whether his event would be banned by French Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez, Le Gallou referred to the recent ‘PSG riots’ and replied
It would be strange if Mr. Nuñez were tempted to ban this event after having left Paris ravaged by thugs.
